2024 Spring Leadership Workshop Summary
The Show How You Shine Leadership Workshop was held at the Foth Office in DePere on Tuesday, 5/14, and was a great success! Thank you to everyone in attendance that spent their morning honing their leadership skills with featured speaker, Karen Lemke. The survey results were overwhelmingly positive and attendees provided near perfect ratings for both the keynote speaker and overall workshop experience.

2024 FUSION Event Announcement
FEI is pleased to continue its sponsorship of the annual FUSION Event. This year will feature Hall of Fame, Award Winning Motivational Speaker, Amanda Gore. Online event registration is open and the FUSION Event will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 1:00 - 4:30 PM at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center (PAC) in downtown Appleton. Click here to register early. FEI's sponsorship provides 15 seats this year. Once filled, registration will close automatically.
Peer Group Update
Peer Group Meetings are held quarterly and are available to FEI Members only. Two meetings are held virtually via Zoom (during fall and winter months), and two meetings are held in person (during spring and summer months).
The next in-person meeting will be held in mid-August. Invest in yourself and spend an afternoon with peers discussing topics important to you! Below are the summer meeting details:

Membership Update
Our chapter's current membership count was 204 as of May 23, 2024. Since the 2024 March/April Newsletter, we've welcomed four (4) new members. We would like to sincerely thank our members and strategic partners for their member referrals and engagement efforts throughout FY23-24.

Our final 2023-2024 event was held on 5/23, as FEI's fiscal year end is approaching on 6/30. The 2024-2025 program planning meeting was held on 5/6, and FEI Leadership has already begun planning FY24-25 programs.
During the summer months FEI Leadership works diligently to develop program offerings for the next fiscal year. The 2024-2025 program schedules will be released in mid-to-late August. Stay tuned and enjoy the next few months of great weather, vacations, and well-deserved time together with family and friends.

Corporate Transparency Act: Are You Ready to Comply?
Effective January 1, 2024, U.S. companies including corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies (LLCs) were required to report beneficial ownership information to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a branch of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) was enacted by Congress in 2021 as an expansion of the anti-money laundering laws. The CTA introduces uniform beneficial ownership reporting requirements for new and existing companies that fall within the CTA’s definition of “reporting company.”

FTC Issues Final Rule Banning Non-Competes
On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, the Federal Trade Commission (the “FTC”) issued its long-awaited Non-Compete Clause Rule (the “final rule”). The final rule prohibits non-compete clauses as an unfair method of restraining competition under the Federal Trade Commission Act (“FTC Act”). The broad scope of the final rule extends to many workers, whether paid or unpaid, including, employees, independent contractors, interns, externs, volunteers, and apprentices.
