Managing Director, Risk Advisory Services | Grant Thornton
DJ Rossini is a resourceful and highly knowledgeable compliance and investigations professional with decades of experience in legal operations, ethics and compliance program design, enterprise risk management, and many more compliance and security-centric functions. As Managing Director in the Grant Thornton Risk Advisory practice, DJ leads regulatory and corporate compliance program evaluations, enterprise risk assessments, forensic investigations and audits.
DJ has led sensitive investigations involving financial crimes, anti-money laundering and sanctions, intellectual property, bribery and corruption. He has also led ethics and compliance inquiries involving allegations of misconduct, retaliation and violations of law, regulation and policy. While at the FBI, he held multiple roles, including special agent, chief counsel, money laundering and asset recovery program manager and chief compliance and ethics officer. He evaluated compliance and ethics programs, ensuring the procedures and controls were effective, employees conformed to the policies, and developed mitigation plans. He led the creation and development of the Internal Audit Division. He also trained FBI and DOJ personnel on ethics and compliance matters and issues.
DJ is a licensed attorney in Illinois and is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP). He earned numerous qualifications at the FBI, including certification as policy officer, chief data privacy officer and chief ethics officer, receiving the DOJ, FBI Manuel J. Gonzalez Ethics Award. He served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for 14 years, and subsequently became the Head of Global Security and Senior Counsel for a Fortune 50 international company.
This session will examine the growing financial, legal and operational risks companies face when doing business internationally. Attendees will gain clarity on evolving employer obligations, including how courts have viewed duty-of-care obligations in prior cases. Common insurance gaps and misunderstandings will be shared as well.

Prior to joining Brown & Brown, Jamie served as Head of Finance for a non-profit organization abroad, following her graduation from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Her multinational experience spans Central America, Southeast Asia, West Africa, and Europe, enriching her global perspective and operational insight.
